“J. Smith Lanier & Co. is once again looking forward to being the corporate sponsor of the 11th Annual J. Smith Lanier & Co. Charity Golf Classic for the Georgia Chapter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The event has raised over $1.8 million in net proceeds since 2005. This longstanding partnership has changed the lives of not only the PBTF Families but all of our J. Smith Lanier & Co. employees as well. We are honored to celebrate the 11th Anniversary of this extraordinary event,” said J. Smith Lanier & Co. Chairman and CEO, D. Gaines Lanier.”
The Georgia Chapter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (formerly known at the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children) started out as a support group for parents at Egleston Children’s Hospital in 1983. Now the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation serves children and families in nine states (compared to only one when J. Smith Lanier & Co. first joined as title sponsor of this event) the PBTF continues to grow and help more and more children each year. Proceeds from this event will help hundreds of children and their families by enabling the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to provide emotional, social and financial assistance; education and information; scholarships; research funding, and more.
Mary Moore, PTBF-GA’s Executive Director, adds, “We are tremendously grateful to J. Smith Lanier & Co. and the many sponsors who participate year after year in this exciting event. Without them, we would not have the capacity to truly impact the families we serve in such meaningful ways.”
