Fees & Commissions

Except in cases where J. Smith Lanier & Co. has a specific fee agreement to receive compensation from its client, JSL customarily receives compensation from insurers for its professional services in the form of commissions, which consist of a percentage of the premium collected by the insurers. JSL may also receive additional compensation, under agreements with one or more insurers and/or insurance intermediaries, in the form of commission overrides or based on some combination of volume, profitability or other factors. JSL may be a party to such agreements with one or more of the insurers or insurance intermediaries with or through which JSL places your insurance. At your request, JSL will be pleased to supply further details of any such fee, override or other compensation that relates to your account.
