J. Smith Lanier & Co. Welcomes John Lyman and Associates

 
- Chattanooga, Tennessee— J. Smith Lanier & Co., one of the oldest and largest independent insurance agencies in the country, welcomes John Lyman and his team to the company. Lyman will serve as a Senior Vice President in the Chattanooga Division.

Lyman’s extensive experience in the insurance and bonding industry began in 1980 when he was Senior Casualty Underwriter with Aetna Life and Casualty in Boston, Massachusetts. Then in 1982, Lyman relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, with Aetna Life and Casualty where he was a Senior Casualty Underwriter. From 1983 to October 2005 Lyman was Vice President of Synaxis Killibrew Lyman & Woodworth.

Lyman is a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and has earned the professional certification of Certified Insurance Counselor.

Sherry Harris will also be coming to J. Smith Lanier & Co., as a Senior Account Manager. Harris began her career in the Insurance Industry in 1982 specializing in personal lines. She handled large commercial accounts since 1985, which included; service, marketing and production. Harris has earned professional certifications as a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter, Certified Risk Manager, Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Insurance Service Representative and Certified Professional Insurance Woman.

Gail Weller will be a Claims Service Coordinator at J. Smith Lanier & Co. Gail has over 25 years of claims experience. Most recently she was associated with Synaxis Killebrew Lyman & Woodworth.

BJ Alligood will be coming to J. Smith Lanier & Co. as a Bonds and Personal Lines Specialist. In 1980, Alligood began her career with Lachman Agency, now Synaxis Killibrew Lyman & Woodworth where she worked in personal lines until 2003. Since then she worked as a commercial and bond specialist.
