J. Smith Lanier & Co. Awards Janet Tomes The Edith Lanier Wickham Award

 
- West Point, Georgia- J. Smith Lanier & Co. is honored to announce Janet Tomes was awarded the Edith Lanier Wickham “Living the Vision” award at the company’s annual conference held on January 28, 2006.

Fondly referred to as “Aunt Edith”, Edith Lanier Wickham proved herself as a wise and providential leader of J. Smith Lanier & Co. from 1927 until her retirement in 1973. Her contributions to J. Smith Lanier & Co. have laid the groundwork for the outstanding organization J. Smith Lanier & Co. is today. In honor of Aunt Edith, J. Smith Lanier & Co. awards one individual annually this prestigious award.

Janet Tomes, a Senior Account Manager in Atlanta, Georgia, was awarded this years Edith Lanier Wickham Award. She has worked at J. Smith Lanier & Co. for over 9 years and has earned her Accredited Advisor of Insurance and Certified Insurance Counselor designations. Tomes started in the insurance business 20 years ago at Oberdorfer Insurance Associates. She earned her Bachelors of Psychology from Indiana University.

“Janet has demonstrated the components of the J. Smith Lanier & Co. Vision Statement by her actions and decisions each and every day. Janet always does the right thing, goes above and beyond the call of duty and is truly ‘Living the Vision’ of J. Smith Lanier & Co.,” said J. Smith Lanier & Co. Chairman, Gaines Lanier.

“I really enjoy working at J. Smith Lanier & Co. and feel honored to accept this years Edith Lanier Wickham Award. I cannot imagine working anywhere else,” said Tomes.
