J. SMITH LANIER & CO. VICE PRESIDENT, LORIE YAUNEY, EARNS CERTIFICATION AS SENIOR PROFESSIONAL IN HUMAN RESOURCES

 
- West Point, Georgia – J. Smith Lanier & Co. is proud to announce Lorie Yauney, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, recently earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

The certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that Yauney possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field.

Certification as a human resource professional clearly demonstrates a commitment to personal excellence and to the human resource profession," said Gaines Lanier, Chairman and CEO for J. To become certified, an applicant must pass a comprehensive examination and demonstrate a strong background of professional human resource experience.

HRCI is the credentialing body for human resource professionals and is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest organization dedicated exclusively to the human resource profession. The Institute's purpose is to promote the establishment of professional standards and to recognize professionals who meet those standards.

“The SPHR exam is a very comprehensive and challenging exam. While preparing for the exam, I learned about various aspects of Human Resources that I had never been exposed to before. It was also very educational to see how J. Smith Lanier & Co. compares with the “accepted” human resources management criteria,” said Yauney.

Yauney was promoted to Vice President Human Resources and Administration in 2004. She has been employed by J. Smith Lanier & Co. for the past 12 years. A native of Custer, S.D., Yauney resides in Hamilton, Georgia. She attended Chardon State College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology.
