J. Smith Lanier & Co. Raises over $150,000 To Benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc. |

West Point, Georgia—J. Smith Lanier & Co. is proud to announce $150,000 net revenue was recently raised at the Second Annual J. Smith Lanier & Co. Charity Classic to Benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. The event was held at Chateau Elan Golf Club on Tuesday, May 9th, 2006. This fundraiser provides financial support for the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children’s program’s and services, including the “Butterfly Fund.” “J. Smith Lanier & Co. was honored to be the primary corporate sponsor of the Second Annual J. Smith Lanier & Co. Charity Golf Classic for the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. We would like to extend a special thank you to the many sponsors and volunteers. Because of their generosity more children and their families will be able to benefit from the many types of support the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children offers to families dealing with this devastating diagnosis,” said J. Smith Lanier & Co. Chairman and CEO, Gaines Lanier. Mary Campbell, executive director of the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children said, “We are extremely grateful to J. Smith Lanier & Co. for the outstanding support they have provided to our organization – not only through their corporate sponsorship, but through the many J. Smith Lanier & Co. employees who have demonstrated a sincere interest in our work and desire to help us make a difference.” The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children has always assisted families from throughout the country with many of its services. The “Butterfly Fund”, which provides critical financial assistance, however, was limited to children treated at Georgia children’s hospitals until 2005. That is when, with the generous support of J. Smith Lanier & Co. as the title sponsor, the Brain Tumor Foundation For Children was able to expand the “Butterfly Fund” to include children and families treated at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama and now- 2006- to the children’s hospitals at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
